Countryside Christian Church will offer Financial Peace University classes, beginning at 6 p.m. July 26.
The 13-week study will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. July 26 through Oct. 11 at the church. Cost will be $93, which includes Dave Ramsey’s best-selling book “Financial Peace,” audio CD library, FPU workbook, budgeting forms and more. Child care will be available.
The program is made up of 13 lessons taught by Ramsey on DVD. Topics covered are budgeting, relationship and money issues, buying big bargains, getting out of debt, understanding investments, understanding insurance, retirement and college planning, “Buyer Beware,” real estate mortgages and careers and extra jobs.
After each lesson, class members will meet to help each other plan budgets, discuss successes and temptations and support each other in their journey to beat debt and build wealth.
Ramsey is a personal money management expert, national radio personality and best-selling author of “The Total Money Makeover.” He had established a $4 million real estate portfolio by the age of 26, and lost it by age 30.
He has since rebuilt his financial life and now devotes himself full-time to helping ordinary people understand the forces behind their financial distress and how to set things right — financially, emotionally and spiritually. Ramsey began teaching FPU classes in 1994 every night around Nashville, Tenn., and FPU was made available on video across the nation in 1997.
Registrations for the class are required by July 15. Anyone needing additional information or wishing to register for the class may call the church at 232-9210.
