Catherine Pinckney had a busy time New Year’s Eve, working at Taco Bell and filling drive-through orders until 2 a.m. Jan. 1.
But that wasn’t the end of her labors. At 2:29 p.m., Pinckney gave birth to her first child, daughter Reyhanna, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. The dark-haired little girl is the Crawford County New Year’s baby.
She weighed in at 7 pounds, 14.9 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches long.
“We closed Taco Bell at 2:20 a.m., and got out at 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day,” Pinckney said. “I thought I might have the baby that day, but I wasn’t sure.”
She was born in Coffeyville, but has lived in Pittsburg since she was 3.
Grandparents are T. Scott and Carol Pinckney.
Chris Kelly, Mt. Carmel director of community relations, said that the New Year baby and her mother will receive a gift basket from the medical center.
