Volunteer drivers for the Meals on Wheels program delivered a total of 1,189 meals during April to elderly and disabled persons in Pittsburg and Opolis.

Volunteers delivering meals weekly were Bill and Dorothy Baker, Jean Barber, Martha Baxter, Bridges Community Care, Bob Buchanan, Ken and Jean Burbach, Elwyn and Karen Davis, Kathy Ebbs, John and Pat Flanders, Tom Hammack, Terri Huelat, Connie and Jim Huddleston, Helen Kriegsman, John and Bea Martel, Joan Miller, Lottie Mocnick, Matt O’Malley, Betty Pentola, Jin and Tony Perez, Pitsco Cares Team, Pittsburg Community Middle School, Mary Reed, Amanda Sheets, Jean and Tony Simoncic, Alice Thomas, University Bank and Larry Vanderhoofven.
Part-time volunteers filling in for regular drivers were Bob and Donna Backes, Bryant Bay, Bea Frevele, Becky Hudson, Kerry Meier, Valerie Meier, Josie Nettels, Patty Nichols, Guy Owings, Bill and Cynthia Pfannenstiel, Treena Saia and Louie Stroup.
Substitute drivers are needed to fill in for regular drivers. Meal delivery routes are finished in less than 90 minutes. Anyone wishing to volunteer or needing to place someone on the meal program may call the Meals on Wheels office at 231-4880.
