1. Friday is Take Your Dog to Work Day. Before taking your furry friend into the office, however, check with your boss to see if it’s OK. You could even organize an event yourself.

2. Several big new movies are opening this week: “Brave,” rated PG, Pixar’s latest animated adventure; “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” an R horror-thriller based on Seth Grahame-Smith's popular novel; and “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,” an R romantic comedy starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley.

3. Saturday is the Great American Backyard Campout, so set up your tent and enjoy your time under the stars! You also could have a “campfire” where you roast marshmallows and around which you tell stories. Just remember to be creative and bring camping fun to your yard!

4. Sunday is International Fairy Day, a day designed to celebrate all things fairy: collectibles, works of art, stories and more. You can celebrate by reading a tale or watching a movie with your kids.

5. The Wimbledon Championships begin Monday. You can fill out brackets this weekend, make your TiVo plans or play some tennis yourself to get in the mood. Go to the official website, http://www.wimbledon.com, to see the latest news, schedule information and more.
