KCAC Conference Indoor Championship

The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is hosting its indoor track and field championships at Pittsburg State University this weekend. Competition begins at 2 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. Saturday. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3 for students. All events will take place at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Date Night, Parent’s Night Out

Parents of all current R.V. Haderlein elementary students may drop their kids off from 6 to 9 p.m. so the parents can enjoy a date night. Cost is $5 per child if you pre-register or $8 per child at the door. Students will receive hot dogs, chips, cookies and popcorn and play games such as Bingo, Just dance or enjoy a movie.

Valentine’s Dance and Silent Auction

The Girard Medical Center Foundation will host its Valentine’s Dance and Silent Auction at Lamplighter Inn Saturday. The night features musical entertainment from DJ Nick Kirby and runs from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets available at Girard Medical Center and all Girard banks. Costs are $20-singles, $30-couples, $25 per person at door.

Super Bowl Sunday Famous Chili Dinner

The Southeast Kansas Humane Society is hosting its famous chili dinner Sunday at Memorial Auditorium. Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes chili, crackers, dessert and a drink. Tickets for the dinner are $7, and to-go quarts of chili will be available for $10.

Gorilla Basketball

The Pittsburg State Gorillas travel to Joplin Saturday to take on rival Missouri Southern State University Lions. The PSU women tip off at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3 p.m. Games are at the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center. Tickets are $10.
