United Mine Workers
The monthly meeting of United Mine Workers of America, District 12, Local 14 will meet at 1 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin, Pittsburg.
A breakfast club for Alzheimer’s caregivers will meet at 9 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 415 N. Pine. The club meets the third Thursday of every month and offers an opportunity to talk with those who share similar issues. Anyone may attend who serves as a family caregiver to an individual with a dementia like Alzheimers. For more information, call 778-1806.
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 0884 meetings are held each Thursday at Knights of Columbus Towers, 700 N. Pine. Frontenac American Legion Bingo
Frontenac American Legion conducts bingo games every Thursday evening at the Frontenac Senior Citizen Center located at 113 N. Crawford in Frontenac. Cards go on sale at 5:30 p.m. and play begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Pittsburg Noon Kiwanis meets every Thursday at noon in the dePaul Hall at Via Christi Hospital.

Pittsburg American Legion Bingo
The Pittsburg American Legion will host bingo every Friday at the legion home. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early bird games are at 6:20 p.m. and regular bingo is at 6:30 p.m.

St. Joseph’s Spaghetti Feed
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arma will have homemade spaghetti and meatballs, salad, dessert and drinks for $6. Meals will be served from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall.
Republican Women’s Meeting
The Crawford Co. Republican Women will be meeting on Saturday in Pittsburg at Root Coffee House beginning at 9:30 am. Meetings are open to any woman interested in getting involved at the grass root level of politics. The Betty Lou Vilmer Post #394 of the American Legion will meet at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Via Christi Village in the Family Lounge. Election of officers will take place as well as discussions concerning honoring the top female cadet at the annual PSU ROTC Banquet in May. The recipient will receive a certificate, a medal and a ribbon as well as cash remuneration. Light refreshments will be served.
Little Balkans Quilt Guild
The Little Balkans Quilt Guild holds a member open sew the fourth Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, corner of 6th and Pine in Pittsburg. Come help with community quilts, or work on your own project, get help and visit with other quilters. Bring your own sewing machine, fabric and sewing items.
