Day of Action

United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas will have local volunteer opportunities as part of its Day of Action. Volunteers can help out at Wesley House, the Family Resource Center, Pittsburg Family YMCA and more. Call 231-8140 for details.

 

Pittsburg American Legion Bingo

The Pittsburg American Legion will host bingo every Friday at the legion home. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early bird games are at 6:20 p.m. and regular bingo is at 6:30 p.m.

 

Tractor Show at CCHM

The Southeast Kansas Old Time Gas Engine and Tractor Club will host its annual show at CCHM Friday and Saturday.

 

Saturday, June 24

Color Walk

Pittsburg Church of God will host a color walk at Lincoln Park. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the west pavilion. Registration cost is $50 and will benefit building safe houses for children and women in Cota, Colombia.

 

Farmer’s Market

The Pittsburg Area Farmer’s Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion.

 

VFW 1158

VFW Post 1158 holds meetings on the fourth Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. at 3204 N. Michigan.

 

Little Balkans Quilt Guild

The Little Balkans Quilt Guild holds a member open sew the fourth Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, corner of 6th and Pine in Pittsburg.

Sunday, June 25

Library Summer Program

“Build a Better World Through Music: Protest Songs Over the Years” will be performed by Dr. Don Viney, PSU professor of philosophy, at the Pittsburg Public Library at 2 p.m. The program is part of the library’s adult summer reading program and is free and open to the public.

 

Legion dance

The Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host Sunday Dance at the Pittsburg American Legion, 2115 N Joplin. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the dance is from 2-5 p.m.

 

Italian Heritage Society

The Italian Heritage Society is starting its 14th year on June 25 with a catered meal for members. We will meet at 5 p.m. in Chicopee and we will be collecting dues at this time.
