Pittsburg American Legion Bingo

The Pittsburg American Legion will host bingo every Friday at the legion home. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early bird games are at 6:20 p.m. and regular bingo is at 6:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, July 1

Pittsburg Fourth Celebration

Pittsburg Parks and Recreation’s Fourth of July celebration begins. Saturday’s events include a tennis tournament at 8:30 a.m., followed by an art show, disc golf tournament and children’s rides. All located at Lincoln Park. Contact PPRD for a full schedule.

 

Girard 4th Celebration

Girard’s Independence Day celebration will begin at 6 p.m. on the square with food vendors, children’s games and a free watermelon feed provided by the Wutke family. Live music will be provided by the Barnstormers starting at 7 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

 

Scrabble Club

Scrabble Club will meet at the Pittsburg Public Library from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. New players are always welcome.

 

Sunflower Kiwanis

Look for Sunflower Kiwanis members collecting aluminum cans from 8 a.m. to noon on the SW corner of Dillon's parking lot.

 

Legion Auxiliary

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will have their regular meeting on the second Saturday of every month at 9:30 a.m. at the post home.

 

Sunday, July 2

Pittsburg Fourth Celebration

Kiddie Land will be open at Lincoln Park from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Fireworks at Farlington

Crawford State Park will have its annual fireworks display and Fourth of July celebration. Food will be served from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will also be live music with fireworks beginning at dark.

 

Legion dance

The Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host Sunday Dance at the Pittsburg American Legion, 2115 N Joplin. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the dance is from 2-5 p.m.

 

Monday, July 3

Pittsburg Fourth Celebration

A baby contest and wiffle ball tournament will begin at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Park. Kiddie Land and arts and crafts will be open beginning at 5 p.m. At 9 p.m. a movie will be shown in the park.

 

Hepler Ruritan Rodeo

The Hepler Rodeo and July 4th celebration will begin at 8 p.m. followed by a live music performance by the Barnstormers and dance at 11 p.m.
