PITTSBURG — Pittsburg’s downtown healthy shake stop, Piece of Cake Nutrition, will be selling healthy fast food in the near future.

A few months ago Keele Allen came to the owners Cathy Amick and Kevin Lloyd with an idea — to sell healthy fast food.

“We need a healthy fast food place,” Allen said.

Piece of Cake Nutrition will be sharing space with Allen’s idea — EatFitPitt — which will turn the storefront into a bistro/coffee shop set up selling healthy fast food.

Customers can eat in or take out just like a fast food restaurant — what Lloyd calls “fast food for smart people.”

Piece of Cake Nutrition will continue to have its health programs and sell healthy shakes with the addition of the EatFitPitt menu.

The healthy fast food will consist of macro friendly food, which is good fats, carbs and protein.

There will be a variety of grilled chicken, fish, wraps, salads and healthy snacks.

The storefront will be expanded towards the back of the building leaving and there will be an entry way from the front and the back of the building.

The three are hoping to start making changes to the store in the fall. During the construction, customers will still be able to buy shakes, it will just be under construction.

“It’s a work in progress,” Amick said.

Allen said her life revolves around healthy foods and said she looks forward to bringing healthy food to the community.

“I’m a health fanatic,” Allen said. “I know this idea will do well here.”

Amick said she knows Allen will be a good partner because she has helped many people lose weight.

“She helps people lose weight out of the kindness of her heart,” Amick said.
