PITTSBURG — There was no one home when a Pittsburg home caught fire on Friday.

The Pittsburg Fire Department was advised of fire at 11:47 a.m. and arrived to find the front of the house fully involved.

They responded with three apparatuses, three firefighters and the fire chief.

According to Battalion Chief Bryan Main, there was no one in the home at the time of fire, but three cats were found deceased.

Main said no residents were harmed, but firefighters received a few on the job injuries — debris in eyes and one slip and strain injury.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time but Main said they do not believe it was foul play.

The room of origin appeared to be the southeast bedroom.

Main said whether or not the structure is habitable will be decided at a later date by the landlord and insurance company.
