FRONTENAC — What was once a thrift store is now a modern styled event hall fit for receptions, baby showers and more.

Palluccas had a ribbon cutting for its new event hall on Wednesday.

The owners, Ethan and Alyssa Edwards, hope the catering side of their business will continue to take off and be a hit with the community.

“The store has been here for over 100 years now and it wouldn’t have happened without the support of the community — we have many more years to come,” Ethan said to the crowd during the ribbon cutting. “We have a great community and we always have such a great turn out.

“It is overwhelming to see so many here today, very blessed and very happy.”

The couple took over the store three years ago. The front half of the building was rented out as a flea market and left like that for a few years — it ended up being used for storage, Alyssa said.

Ethan said it was his wife’s creative ideas which made the dining hall possible.

“My wife, of course, likes to come up with ideas. She keeps growing ideas — Pinterest doesn’t help — but we are excited our catering has really taken off over the last couple of years,” he said.

Since the event hall is connected to the store, Ethan said it will help with setup for catering.

Alyssa said patrons of the event hall do not have to cater with Palluccas to use the hall.
