ARCADIA — Crawford County authorities are no longer seeking Britney Cressy, a 15 year-old runaway from Arcadia.
According to an email from Crawford County Sheriff Dan Peak, Cressy has been located. The Barton County, Missouri Sheriff's
Office reported that she walked into their facility at approximately 9:30 p.m.
At about 1:30 a.m., Sunday the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a runaway teen from Arcadia. The teen’s legal guardian reported Cressy was last seen outside the residence at approximately 10:30 p.m. doing repair work to the backyard fence. The guardian went inside the residence and returned later to find Cressy gone. After a search of the residence and the surrounding area the guardian reported the incident to authorities.
The subsequent investigation has revealed Cressy had utilized social media outlets to attempt to arrange for transportation from the area. It was also discovered that food and other personal items were missing from the residence, indicating that Cressy had made a plan to run away.
To this point the investigation has included assistance from Southwest Missouri authorities and other Southeast Kansas agencies.
Britney Cressy is described as a five-foot three-inch, 120 pound white female, with brown hair and brown eyes. She wears glasses. Cressy was last seen wearing blue denim shorts, red shoes and a black and white hooded “Panda” jacket.
