PITTSBURG — DLR Group architects brought schematic drawings to the USD 250 Board of Education at Monday’s board meeting.
DLR discussed architectural plans and budget numbers. They also showed more schematic drawings and images of the planned changes to the school.
“Everything seems to be on track,” USD 250 Public information Director Zach Fletcher said. “They presented budget numbers to board and the board was okay with the numbers.”

Ronda Fincher shared information from the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation conference. She also discussed the Civil Rights Review.
Journalism students and their teacher, Emily Smith were at the meeting to ask permission to travel to Dallas for the National Conference for Journalism on November 15. Approximately 28 students are interested in attending. The board approved their trip to Dallas.
The board also passed the quote from Bitner Motors for a 2015 Nissan Altima with 15,345 miles as a replacement vehicle for $14,460.
It will replace the 2013 Nissan Altima which was damaged in an incident in July. The cost to repair the car would have exceeded the value of the vehicle according to EMC Insurance.
The district released the car for salvage for a previously accepted offer from the insurance company, a settlement of $14,098.
The board also looked at the 2016-2017 strategic planning to see if they hit their goals of high expectations for teaching, customer service, professional development, integration of technology in the classrooms and more.
