PITTSBURG — In today’s political climate, demonization of political opponents is far from unusual. However, actually accusing someone of being the Prince of Darkness is not common.

But that’s exactly what happened to Pittsburg City Commissioner John Ketterman when someone spray painted the name “Satan” across one of his campaign signs sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

Reached for comment, Ketterman said that he was not, in fact, Beelzebub.

The sign, located on West Fourth across from Watco, was quickly taken down and repaired.

“I’d like to thank the guys at Watco,” Ketterman said. “They took it down before I could get there and I got it touched up and ready to go back up.”

The Pittsburg Police Department did not have any suspects as of Thursday afternoon.

The Infernal One could not be reached for comment.
