PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University will continue its tradition of bringing local restaurants together to share the taste of Pittsburg.
The Taste of Pittsburg is under the direction of the Office of Alumni & Constituent Relations and is set for October 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Robert W. Plaster Center.
This will be the eighth year of the event, which PSU Director of Alumni & Constituent Relations Jon Bartlow said is a “one stop” for people to have food from local restaurants at one time.
“It’s really become the kickoff to homecoming week,” he said.
Bartlow said there will be 10 different restaurants — including Bamboo, Barto’s Idle Hour, Guadalajara, Gusano’s, Pallucca’s, Root Coffeehouse, Smokin’ Joe's BBQ, Sodexo, Sweet Designs Cakery and The Mall Deli. Beer and wine are available for purchase.
The event will also include recognitions, the Dr. Kenneth K. Bateman award and the homecoming king and queen and their court. The event will feature live music from The Duke Mason Band, who will play Elvis and other oldie goldies, Bartlow said.
Bartlow said reservations are required to account for the amount of food. Reservations will be accepted until Friday, October 6.
Tickets are $20 per person and a limited number are available. Tickets can be purchased at www.pittstate.edu/tasteofpittsburg or call 620-235-4758.
