Pittsburg American Legion Bingo

The Pittsburg American Legion will host bingo every Friday at the legion home. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early bird games are at 6:20 p.m. and regular bingo is at 6:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, October 28

Zombie Survival 5k run

Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. the race begins at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Park. Participants will run from zombies as they go along the the 5k trail. Entry is $25 for youth runners, $35 for adults. All proceeds from the race will be used to continue improvements at Schlanger Park.

 

VFW 1158

VFW Post 1158 holds meetings on the fourth Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. at 3204 N. Michigan.

 

Little Balkans Quilt Guild

The Little Balkans Quilt Guild holds a member open sew the fourth Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, corner of 6th and Pine in Pittsburg. Come help with community quilts, or work on your own project, get help and visit with other quilters. Bring your own sewing machine, fabric and sewing items. Chicopee Soup or Chili Dinner

The Chicopee Center will have a soup or chili dinner from 11 a.m. until sold out. Dinner consists of soup or chili, dessert and a drink. Dinners are $7 for adults, $2 for children 4 to 12. Children under 4 are free. Carryout quarts available for $8.

 

Legion dance

The Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host Sunday Dance at the Pittsburg American Legion, 2115 N Joplin. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the dance is from 2-5 p.m.

Insight Meditation Talks

The second insight meditation talk takes place at 6:30 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library. Learn how to become mindful of your breath, your body, your emotions and your thoughts and how this practice can help you develop insight in your daily life. No prior knowledge or experience of meditation is necessary.

 

Co-Dependents Anonymous

Co-Dependents Anonymous is a 12 step fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is recovery from codependence and the development and maintenance of healthy relationships. CoDA meets at noon at St. Peter’s Episcopal, 306 W. Euclid. For further information call 620-231-0499.

Private weigh-ins are from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and are designed to provide motivation and support to help members reach their weight loss goals. Visitors are always welcome. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 0975, Girard, meets every Monday at 511 N. Western in Girard, KS. Private weigh-in will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 5:45 p.m. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. A support and motivational program is presented each week to encourage members to reach and maintain weight loss goals.
