PITTSBURG — Three 13 year olds and one 14 year old were arrested on aggravated burglary charges Saturday.
Pittsburg Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress at the 1700 block of Colonial Drive at approximately 10:44 p.m. Saturday. The male homeowner reportedly arrived home and found two male juveniles in his residence. One of them pointed a handgun at the victim and the intruders then fled from the residence.
Responding officers searched the area and located four male juveniles hiding in the bushes at Countryside Christian Church. One of them fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended.
Three 13-year-old males and one 14-year-old male were transported to the Pittsburg Police Department, where they were screened by juvenile intake authorities. Two firearms were recovered, one of which was stolen from the Colonial Drive residence.
One of the 13 year olds was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Girard for charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm while under the influence, theft of a firearm, possession of drugs and underage drinking.
The other three juveniles were released to the custody of their parents, with various pending charges of aggravated burglary, underage drinking, obstruction of the legal process, open container and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.
