1. Kiwanis Pancake Day

Pittsburg Noon Kiwanis is hosting its 69th Annual Pancake Day at Memorial Auditorium this weekend. Pancakes, sausages and more will be available for $5 per adult and $2 per child (12 and under). Proceeds will be used to fund local youth programs. Kiwanis will serve the pancakes from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the lower level of Memorial Auditorium.

2. Journey to Bethlehem

Countryside Christian Church is providing its Christmas gift to the community this weekend. CCC will host “Journey to Bethlehem,” which is a live-action portrayal of the birth of Jesus Christ. The event will include actors and live animals. Tours through the journey will be available 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Visitors are asked to park across the street at Pittsburg High School, they will be shuttled from PHS to the church. The church encourages visitors to bring warm clothing, but they will be able to wait indoors with refreshments before each tour begins.

3. Holiday Craft Fair and Santa’s Workshop

Admission to both of these events is a non-perishable food item for the Wesley House Food Pantry. Both events take place in the lower level of Memorial Auditorium Saturday. The Holiday Craft Fair will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and feature unique gift options from local artists and vendors. Santa’s Workshop is open from 9 a.m. to noon for children. Children will be able to decorate an ornament and more. Children must have an adult with them while in the workshop.

4. Zumbathon for Communities in Schools

Pittsburg Parks & Recreation will host their Zumbathon for Communities in Schools of Mid-America, Lincoln Center, 710 W. 9th St., Pittsburg, KS. This year’s event benefits USD 250 School District students through Communities in Schools of Mid-America. Admission: One donation of socks, underwear, gloves, hats or scarves. For each additional item donated, attendees will receive a ticket for entry into a prize drawing. Zumbathon takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

5. Toy Drive at Circle B Ranch

The Circle B Ranch Event Center is hosting a toy drive to benefit KOAM’s Toy Box for the holidays. The day will include pictures with Santa — who will arrive in a firetruck — as well as police, ambulances and even AeroMed helicopters. Anyone wishing to see Santa’s grand entrance should be at Circle B at 2 p.m Saturday. Pictures with Santa will be available until 5 p.m. Live country and rock music will start at 5:30 p.m. from several local bands. Bring a toy for donation and enjoy a day with Santa. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
