PITTSBURG — A local man was airlifted to the hospital following a one vehicle wreck on West Fourth Street Tuesday night.
At approximately 11:57 p.m., deputies from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Crawford County EMS and Baker Fire Department responded tot he 1900 Block of West Fourth Street for an injury accident.
According to CRSO, a 2002 Toyota Tacoma truck driven by Fredrick Jesse Falkin, of Pittsburg, was traveling westbound on W. Fourth Street when it entered the south ditch. It struck a mailbox and a utility pole.
Falkin was transported to Freeman Hospital in Joplin by helicopter. He was later taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center.
His condition remains critical.
The incident is still under investigation by CRSO.
