Cookie and Craft Fair

First Christian Church of Girard is having their Annual Christmas Cookie and Craft Fair this Friday, December 15, from 7 a.m until sold out at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 200 N. Summit, Girard.


Pittsburg American Legion Bingo

The Pittsburg American Legion will host bingo every Friday at the legion home. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early bird games are at 6:20 p.m. and regular bingo is at 6:30 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa

Pittsburg High School Theatre is teaming with The Mount Carmel Foundation to present its annual “Breakfast with Santa.” The 30-minute show begins at 9 a.m. followed by a breakfast. Santa will also visit after the show and be available for photos. The performance takes place at the PHS auditorium. The event is free to children and families.


Pittsburg Youth Chorale

The Pittsburg Youth Chorale will wrap up its season with a free performance beginning at 10 a.m. at Memorial Auditorium.


Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America will have a wreath laying ceremony at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. An escort to the national cemetery will leave Pittsburg at 9 a.m. The escort will leave from the Walmart Supercenter parking lot on North Broadway.


Pittsburg American Legion

The American Legion, 2815 N. Joplin, hosts a noon feed for veterans on the third Saturday of every month. Additionally, an accredited veterans service officer with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 317 and sponsored by American Legion Post 64 Pittsburg will be present beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please call 620-231-2240 to make an appointment.


Veterans benefits

The Veterans Service Officer will be available every third Saturday of each month beginning at 9am. All veterans needing assistance with VA benefits are welcome. Call the American Legion at 231-2240 to make an appointment.

The Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host Sunday Dance at the Pittsburg American Legion, 2115 N Joplin. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the dance is from 2-5 p.m.

Pittsburg American Legion Post #64 will hold their meeting every third Monday of each month at 7pm. All members are encouraged to attend.


Co-Dependents Anonymous

Private weigh-in will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 5:45 p.m. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. A support and motivational program is presented each week to encourage members to reach and maintain weight loss goals.
