PITTSBURG — Casey Brown has been selected as the new director of Southeast Kansas Services for Catholic Charities.

As director, Brown’s role will be to prevent homelessness in Southeast Kansas by assisting children and families to maintain stable housing.

Brown and his staff will utilize individual case management to help families with rent, utilities, transportation and prescriptions. The services help families stay housed, working and healthy. Financial literacy, supportive services for veterans’ families and healthy relationship education are other services provided by Southeast Kansas Services.

Brown won’t be moving far for the new position. He previously worked as the operations manager for Wesley House, where Southeast Kansas Services is housed. Prior to that, Brown worked for the Southeast Kansas Juvenile Detention Center in Girard.

Catholic Charities is an organization created by the Diocese of Wichita with the aim of alleviating poverty and building strong families.
