PITTSBURG — A Mardi Gras-themed brunch is set to help provide new bras for clients at Wesley House, Safehouse Crisis Center and students in Pittsburg USD 250.

People can stop by the event, called MardiBra, between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on February 17 at the Crestwood Country Club.

The event is hosted by Wesley House, Safehouse, the community group P3 and The Family Resource Center.

“We all identified there is a lack of resource to provide new bras for clients for Safehouse, Wesley House and students in the district,” P3 Committee Co-Chair Dawn McNay said.

She said other groups have tried this event across the country and so they decided to try it locally.

Tickets for the brunch cost $20 and a new bra, or $40 and the service providers will purchase a bra.

Tickets are available at the Family Resource Center, Embellish Boutique, Little Shop of FLowers and Salon 9. The deadline for tickets is Feb. 7.

During MardiBra there will be a New Orleans-style brunch, complete with mimosas.

Between now and the Friday before the event, people can drop of new bras at the following locations: The Family Resource Center, Embellish Boutique, Little Shop of Flowers, Salon 9 and The Morning Sun.
