One of the winners is Mason Holmes, a fourth grader from Northeast Elementary School.

Holmes’ poster will be in the 2018 Kansas Fire Safety Calendar.

For winning the fourth grade division, Holmes was awarded a certificate by then Governor Sam Brownback and State Fire Marshal Doug Jorgensen on Jan. 26 at the State Capital in Topeka.

Holmes was accompanied to Topeka by his grandparents, Terry and Jeanne Napier.
