PITTSBURG — Looking for love?

The Crawford County Diaper Stock is hosting its first-ever speed dating event to fundraise for Luv brand diapers at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at McCarthy’s Pub.

“We wanted to raise awareness that we have a diaper bank … it’s a fun way people to learn that we have a diaper bank,” Parents as Teachers Parent Educator Dacia White said.

The proceeds from the event will go toward buying Luvs diapers and wipes, White said. People may bring diapers if they wish, she said.

The event is part of the diaper stock’s efforts of alleviating the “diaper gap” for Crawford County families — the event itself is a reminder for people in need of diapers to know there is a stock available for them, White said.

People aged 21 to 29 can register 6:45 p.m. at the door. It costs $25 per person, which includes a free drink ticket.

The first 25 women and 25 men who arrive will get to participate. If at least 10 men and 10 women do not show up the event will be canceled.

For more information see the Crawford County Diaper Stock Facebook page, people in need of diapers can email or call the organization at 620-719-0835.
