PITTSBURG — Ladies, it’s time to put on your Kentucky Derby Hat and head out to Safehouse Crisis Center’s Bags to Riches Extravaganza.
For the past several years Safehouse Crisis Center has hosted a fundraising event to better assist victims of domestic violence.
“It helps us continue to provide service to all seven communities we serve — in our community and in the shelter,” Safehouse Program Director Brooke Powell said.
This year’s theme is Ladies Night at the Derby and Safehouse is encouraging everybody to wear hats or fascinators. The event is set at 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Memorial Auditorium.
Food, beverages and dessert will be served.
At the event people can participate in a live and silent auction of designer brand bags — including Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and more.
There will be various door prizes and a raffle.
Some of the raffle items include Gucci sunglasses and jewelry from Comeau Jewelry. People do not have to be present for the raffle and tickets may be purchased by calling Safehouse at 620-231-8692. Raffle tickets cost $5 for one and $10 for three.
To purchase tickets for the event, people may call Safehouse. Tickets are $35 each and people must be at least 21 years old to go.
