GIRARD — A Girard man is being held on $50,000 bond following his arrest on child sex charges Thursday.

Daniel Dewayne Johnson, 44, of Girard, was arrested Thursday afternoon on a warrant issued by the Crawford County District Court.

Johnson has been charged with one counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under the age of 14, one county of aggravated sodomy with a child under the age of 14. and one count of rape.

According to court documents, the rape and sodomy charges stem from an incident which took place between March 17, 2013, and April 1, 2014 with a victim who was born in 2009.

The aggravated indecent liberties charge stems from an alleged incident between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, 2015 with a victim who was born in 2011.

All three charges are off-grid felonies, which in Kansas means a mandatory minimum sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for 25 years, if convicted
