FRONTENAC — Terri Kutz was announced as Frontenac’s next City Clerk Friday.

Kutz has been serving as the accounts payable and payroll clerk for the city since February 2017 and replaces Interim City Clerk Jayme Mjelde.

Public service is not a new career for Kutz. She has 19 years of experience working for municipalities. Her previous work includes positions at Memorial Auditorium and in Codes Enforcement. A Pittsburg native, Kutz resides in Frontenac with husband, John.

“Terri emerged as the ideal candidate out of a very competitive pool of over 195 applicants,” said City Administrator Brad Reams in a release. “Terri’s inter- and intrapersonal skills are excellent — she has the talent and the background to thrive in this position and improve our organization.”

Reams said Kutz will likely work as a full-time city clerk within the next two weeks.

“It’s hard to find veteran municipal employees because people with her experience often move on to something else,” he said. “Terri’s been a great public servant in both Pittsburg and now here in Frontenac and I think she’s going to bring a lot to the table.”
