PITTSBURG — Two people were arrested on drug charges Monday, following a report they were distributing illegal substances.
According to a release from the Pittsburg Police Department, at about 7:24 a.m. Monday officers were sent to 607 North Woodland for a report of possible drug distribution.
Upon arrival, officers approached a vehicle, which was parked off the alley in the rear of the residence, and allegedly observed its occupants engaged in drug activity. Contact was made with Floyd Hayes, 39, of Pittsburg, and Mercedes Wilson, 28, of Pittsburg. Wilson and Hayes were detained and a subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly produced items related to drug distribution.
Both Hayes and Wilson were placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County jail on charges of possession of narcotics (cocaine) with intent to distribute; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; felony possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of narcotics and possession of marijuana.
Hayes was also placed under arrest for an outstanding Missouri warrant.
Hayes is being held without bond on the Missouri warrant, Wilson was released on $7,500 bond.
