The filing deadline to run for office in the state of Kansas was noon Friday.

In the Kansas Senate race, Democrat Bryan Hoffman of Mulberry will run against incumbent Republican Richard Hilderbrand of Galena for senate for District 13.

Incumbent Democrat Adam J. Lusker Sr. of Frontenac will run against Republican Kenneth Collins of Mulberry for the Kansas House of Representatives District 2 seat.

Republican Terry Calloway will run against incumbent Democrat Monica Murnan for the Kansas House of Representatives District 3 seat. Both candidates are from the Pittsburg area.

In the race for the Crawford County Commission District 1 seat, Democrats, Larry J. Brunetti, and Richard Gilmore, will complete with Republicans Bruce L. Blair, Greg Hite and Jeff Smith.

Republican Chad Ulepich, Democrat Jeremy Johnson and Democrat Carl Wood will be on the ballot for the District 3 commission seat.

Township clerk and precinct committee information is available on the county clerk's website. More information on the candidates will be featured later this month in the Morning Sun. The voter registration deadline is October 18.
