PITTSBURG — A Pittsburg woman was arrested early Saturday night after a report of a residential burglary.

According to a release from the Pittsburg Police Department, at about 7:07 p.m., officers were called to 706 W. 1st on a report of a residential burglary. While investigating that incident, officers discovered that a second residential burglary had allegedly occurred at 708 W. 1st. The alleged victim of the first burglary had reportedly observed a female suspect removing items from the residence at 708 W. 1st, and positively identified her to officers as a neighbor residing a few houses down on the same street.

According to the release, the follow up investigation resulted in a search warrant being served at 710 W. 1st to recover items of stolen property. During the execution of the search warrant, it was discovered that while committing these offenses, the suspect — Megan R. Bone, 25, of Pittsburg, had allegedly left a loaded handgun in an area easily accessible to her two year-old child.

Bone was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Jail on allegations of two felony counts of residential burglary, one count of felony theft, one count of misdemeanor theft and one count of misdemeanor child endangerment. Bone was released on a $5,000 bond.
