PITTSBURG — For brides and grooms, with many wedding details to sort out the big day will come before they know it.

Friday, brides and grooms and their entourage can travel Downtown Pittsburg to sample cakes, look at formal wear and match jewelry — making planning a bit easier.

The third annual Pittsburg Bridal Crawl, sponsored by Kansas Crossing Casino, will be from 4 to 9 p.m., beginning at Memorial Auditorium where people can purchase their passports in the lobby between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. for $10.

“We host this event to highlight what Pittsburg has to offer for bridal parties — cinematographers, bakers and boutiques,” Event Planner Jenna Spencer said.

When attendees are finished browsing gowns, looking at floral arrangements and trying samples, people will have an opportunity to win prizes during the faux wedding reception at 8 p.m. in the lower level of Memorial Auditorium. People must submit their stamped passport at 8 p.m. to be entered to win.

Prizes include a free reception at Memorial Auditorium; a $350 gift card from Sweet Designs Cakery toward a wedding cake; $350 toward a wedding shoot from Peterson Media; a $250 gift card toward wedding planning services from Carbon Creek Events & Venue; a $100 gift card to Celebrations by Lori; a $100 gift card from Sara Loree’s Bridal & Formal; a free flower girl dress, formal dress, jewelry set and veil from Strawberry Moon; a free engagement photo session from Mona Rae Photography; a free hotel stay at Hampton Inn & Suites, and more.

During the faux reception caterers will provide free food samples and Pairott Head Liquor will offer a wine tasting.
No preregistration is required for the event. For more information, visit www.pittks.org/ bridal-crawl or call Memorial Auditorium at 620-231-7827.
