Turnbull earns diploma from Graduate School of Banking
Jared D. Turnbull, Vice President of University Bank was awarded a diploma on August 19, 2011, at commencement exercises during the 67th annual session of the prestigious Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The school, sponsored by the 18 state bankers associations comprising the Central States Conference of Bankers Associations, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was established in 1945 to provide bankers with an opportunity for advanced study and research in banking, economics and leadership. Instruction at the Graduate School of Banking takes place during two-week resident sessions for three consecutive summers, along with comprehensive study between summer resident sessions. The curriculum focuses on the management of strategic issues faced by banking executives and financial services industry professionals.

The Graduate School of Banking enrolls approximately 550 US and international professionals each year. Turnbull is a small business lending specialist at University Bank.

Koelkebeck named Freeman Senior Vice President
JOPLIN, Mo.—Freeman Health System proudly announces the promotion of Debi Koelkebeck to Senior Vice President. Koelkebeck most recently served the health system as Vice President of Retail Services and Clinical Operations. Since joining Freeman in 1998, she has held several positions, including Freeman OccuMed Director and Director of Retail Services.

Among other aspects in her new role at Freeman, Koelkebeck will help oversee future planning for the health system.

“Throughout the 13 years she has been with us, Debi’s knowledge and expertise have resulted in great things for Freeman Health System,” said Gary Duncan, Freeman President and Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to continued progress with her as a key member of our senior leadership team.”

Koelkebeck currently serves on the Lafayette House Board of Directors and is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. She graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Koelkebeck is also a certified public accountant.

Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Receives Readers’ Choice Award from Wichita Eagle
WICHITA – The winning recipients for the 2011 The Wichita Eagle Readers’ Choice Awards have been announced and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice has been chosen Best in Home Care.

“We are honored and privileged to accept this award from The Wichita Eagle,” said Vickie Hardiman, Vice President Provider Relations.

The Wichita Eagle and Kansas.com readers cast their votes in over 150 categories ranging from the health care industry to service providers, food and entertainment. Each category has several favorites, but only one was chosen as the overall winner.

“This recognition is made possible by the team work and commitment of every employee at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice,” said Hardiman, “and we appreciate all those who voted for us.”

The official announcement of the winners took place in the September 23, 2011 edition of the The Wichita Eagle and online at www.kansas.com.
