Kansas health officials say the state is seeing more than twice as many reports of people with flu-like symptoms than is normal at this time of year.
State epidemiologist Charlie Hunt says outpatient clinics usually see about 2 percent of patients with flu-like symptoms at this time of year. But last week, 5.6 percent of the patients at the clinics reported flu-like symptoms.
Hunt says that's actually a decline over the previous two weeks, but still is unprecedented for this time of year.
The health department on Monday released its most recent weekly report on the impact of influenza-like illness in Kansas.
