Smithsonian exhibit
FRANKLIN — A public informational meeting about “The Way We Worked,” a Smithsonian Institute traveling exhibit, will be held at 6 p.m. at the Miners Hall Museum in the Franklin Community Center and Heritage Museum.
All interested persons may attend.
Senior Services Nutrition Center, 3003 N. Joplin, serves lunchtime meals which are open to any person 60 or older.
Participants are asked to make reservations for lunch one day in advance. A donation of $3 per meal is suggested.
Northeast USD 246 breakfast and lunch menus have been announced for the week beginning Feb. 6.

Chicopee chili dinner
CHICOPEE — Chicopee Community Center will have a soup or chili dinner from 11 a.m. until sold out.
Dave Hensley was elected potentate of Mirza Shrine Temple during the annual meeting held on Jan. 18.
There will be a Good Samaritan Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. at the Pittsburg Presbyterian Church to receive assignment instructions.
Flapjack fundraiser
A flapjack fundraiser to benefit Pittsburg High School boys tennis will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebee’s.
Retired City Employees
Retired City of Pittsburg Employees Group will meet at 11:15 a.m. at the Corner Bistro.
All retired city employees may attend.
