A Tennessee man was accidentally shot in the foot Saturday morning when his dog knocked a gun onto the floor, causing it to discharge.

Oak Ridge police reports said 23-year-old Nicholas Thomas Damarinis told police he was sitting on the couch shortly before noon with a pistol on a table in front of him.

He said he scared his dog, causing the dog to run into the table, which caused the 9 mm gun to hit the floor and fire a bullet into his right foot.

Police officers who arrived at the home reportedly found the bullet in the floor and saw an indentation in the floor where the gun fell.
