A single-vehicle wreck early Thursday morning sent a Cherokee man to the hospital with potentially life-threatening but undisclosed injuries.
According to a report from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, James Nicholas Castagno, 59, of 711 W. Pine in Cherokee, was traveling on 520 Ave. about a half mile east of 160th Street at about 3:22 a.m.
Thursday when the 2003 Ford Ranger he was driving left the road and hit a utility pole owned by Empire Electric. Castagno was transported by Crawford County EMS to Via Christi Hospital for treatment. The investigation of the accident is ongoing.
The Sheridan Township Fire Department also responded to the scene.
