Crawford County Sheriff’s Department and EMS responded late Friday night to an accident west of Cherokee on Highway 400.

Preliminary reports indicated that a van carrying numerous passengers struck a cow on the highway. Several persons suffered undetermined injuries and the highway was blocked for a time.

Sheriff’s officers remained on the scene at press time as the accident investigation continued.
