In the news: A photo taken from a video made by The Onion, a satirical website/newspaper, is causing an uproar on Facebook and across the Internet. The photo shows a Sears airplane about to fly into Chicago's Willis Tower (formerly known as Sears Tower), an image similar to the real events that took place on 9/11. Reaction on social media has been overwhelmingly negative.

Happening today: The U.S. women’s soccer team continues its quest for a third straight gold medal today in a semifinal game against Canada. Team USA plays at 2:45 p.m. EDT. See a full schedule of Olympic events here.

Gas update: GasBuddy.com reports that the lowest prices are in Arizona ($3.253) and New Mexico ($3.258).

Motivational quote: “"If you want to be the best, you have to do things that other people aren't willing to do." – Michael Phelps

Watercooler talk: Seaworld restores nearly blind seal's vision

A Pacific harbor seal recently rescued by SeaWorld underwent cataract removal surgery on Aug. 1 at Eye Care for Animals in Tustin, Calif. SeaWorld veterinarians and animal rescue team hope the surgery will restore her eyesight enough so that she can forage for food on her own and eventually be returned to the wild.
