Following a re-evaluation of the load carrying capacity on the K-47 bridge over the Neosho River approximately two miles west of St. Paul, the Kansas Department of Transportation is proceeding with plans to restrict the weight of vehicles that can use the bridge until necessary repairs are made.
The legal weight limit restrictions will be 20 tons for a single vehicle, 30 tons for a truck-tractor semi-trailer and 40 tons for a truck-trailer combination.
The repairs are necessary due to deterioration of the steel truss bridge. It is anticipated the repairs will begin and be completed within the next few months.
