Pancake feed
CHEROKEE — Southeast High School cheerleaders will sponsor a pancake feed from 7 to 11 a.m. in the school cafeteria.

Menu will feature pancakes, sausage and beverage. Cost will be $5 for adults, $3.50 for children 12 and younger and free for children 3 and younger. Cheerleaders are selling tickets, and they will also be available at the door.
Proceeds will be used to help the cheerleaders attend camp.

Outdoor Kansas Kids Day
Outdoor Kansas Kids Day will be held at Lakeside Park, with registration at 7:30 a.m. and events starting at 8 a.m.

Activities will include archery, canoeing, face painting, dodge ball, fishing and more. Children 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

The free event is being hosted by the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department and Pittsburg State University health, human performance and recreation department.

Can collection
Members of Sunflower Kiwanis Club will collect aluminum cans from 8 a.m. to noon in the Dillon’s parking lot.

Proceeds will help to fund the club’s area youth projects during the year.

Poppy Day
ARMA — Arma American Legion Auxiliary Unit 182 will have its annual veterans Poppy Day from 8 a.m. to noon at the Arma Supermarket, Horton’s Pizza Plus and the Arma Post Office.

Pittsburg Farmers Market
Pittsburg Farmers Market will be held from 7:30 a.m. until noon or sold out at Second and Broadway.

Musical guest will be the Barows. Jacob Weber, Kansas State Extension horticulturist, will be in the community booth to answer gardening questions. Anyone wishing to entertain at the market or use the community booth may call 231-3835 for additional information.

Items available at the market will include: Asparagus; washed, spun and bagged mixed Asian greens with baby bok choi, mizuna and mustard greens; Jerusalem artichokes; baby spinach; raw honey; natural beef, pork, chicken and eggs; sprouted wheat bread; garden and heirloom tomato starters; vegetable and herb starter plants; perennials; handmade garden items; decorated Mother’s Day cakes and cupcakes; baked goods; cookies; outdoor furniture; butterfly, bird and bat houses; jewelry; journals, greeting cards, hair bows and art; and Farmers Market T-shirts.

The producer-only market accepts Vision, debit and credit cards. Anyone needing additional information or wishing to become part of the market may call Chuckie Hessong at 620-249-3011.

Scrabble Club
Pittsburg Scrabble Club will meet from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library.

Players of all skill levels are welcome. Anyone needing additional information may call Dan Lee, club director, at 620-249-2574.

House of Prayer
ARCADIA — A time of fellowship will be held at 1 p.m. at the House of Prayer, Arcadia. All may attend.

Country jamboree
COLUMBUS — A country jamboree will be held at 2 p.m. in the Cherokee County Hospitality Center, 516 N. Kansas, Columbus.

Admission is $1 at the door. Anyone needing additional information may call 620-762-1440.
