Health and wellness-centric groups at Pittsburg State University are planning to help smokers kick the habit with various events to coincide with the 2008 Great American Smokeout, to be held Thursday.
J.T. Knoll, prevention and wellness coordinator at PSU, will present a talk titled “Let’s Quit Together — Community Options for Tobacco Cessation” at 10 a.m. in the Governor’s Room of Overman Student Center. All are welcome to attend.
In addition, an information and resource table will be set up in the main level lounge of the student center, featuring free “quit kits,” Tobacco Jeopardy, a slogan contest, pharmacological information on smoking cessation, information on helping a friend quit, and more. The table will be set up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Great American Smokeout at Pittsburg State University is sponsored by Gorillas In Your Midst and Student Prevention and Wellness.
For more information on this event or others sponsored by these groups, persons may contact J.T. Knoll at (620) 235-4062 or jknoll@pittstate.edu.
