PITTSBURG —

An accident at Quincy Street and the U.S. Highway 69 bypass sent a Humboldt man to a hospital by helicopter.
Amanda Fager-Magne, 21, Rogers, Ark., was driving her 1993 Honda Accord northbound on U.S. Highway 69 bypass approaching the intersection at Quincy. She was unable to avoid striking the rear end of a 2008 Dodge Magnum driven by Michael Brader, 40, Altamont, which was stopped at the intersection at a red light.
The collision caused injury to a passenger in the Honda, Travis A. Stewart, 28 Humboldt, who was not wearing his seat belt. Stewart hit the windshield with his head.
He was transported from the accident scene by Eagle Medflight to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The Accord sustained “total front-end damage” and the Magnum was immobilized with driver’s side rear-end damage.
