A pair of accidents in Pittsburg injured one and damaged a Pittsburg police car.
Thursday around 3:15 p.m., a patrol car driven by Thomas J. Barnow was driving north on Broadway when it came to the intersection of First and Broadway. Elizabeth A. Cornelius, driving eastbound on First Street, came to the intersection, and hit Barnow’s patrol car while driving through the intersection from a stop sign.
Cornelius’s car then hit a sign belonging to the First Federal Savings & Loan. Cornelius was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. She was subsequently arrested on unrelated charges from a Crawford County District Court warrant.
There were no injuries in the accident.
On Wednesday, a rollover in near Arma caused an injury.
Around 5:15 p.m., a Pathfinder driven by Angela Yarnell, 37, of Arma, was traveling north on U.S. 69 Highway just north of 600th Avenue when her vehicle entered the east ditch. According to police reports, Yarnell overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The car came out of the ditch and began to roll into the median, crossing the southbound lanes upside down before skidding into the west ditch. The car rolled, ending on its wheels in the west ditch.
Because of the accident, Yarnell complained of pain, which prompted Eagle Med to take Yarnell to Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center.
