Two Pittsburg State University ROTC teams earned top placement at a Ranger Challenge competition held Oct. 24 at Camp Dodge near Des Moines, Iowa.

The teams – Team 1 consisted of both upper and underclassmen and Team 2 is PSU’s “junior varsity” team – competed against large Division 1 schools including the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, the University of Iowa, Iowa State, University of Nebraska, and others. In total, 18 teams from 12 different schools competed. Twenty PSU students competed.

After a grueling all-day competition that tested skill, strength and endurance in several areas, Pitt State’s Team 1 tied for 1st place, but was ultimately awarded 3rd in a tiebreaker. Team 2 took 6th place overall.
