The Crawford County Convention and Visitor's Bureau announced today that it has found its new director.
CVB board president LaWana Esch announced that B.J. Harris had been hired to run the CVB.
“We’re excited to have someone of BJ’s ability as our CVB director,” Esch said. “His knowledge of Crawford County and all it has to offer, along with his proven ability to effectively utilize a wide range of marketing outlets, will serve him and the county well in this role.”
A native of Hepler in rural Crawford County, Harris currently serves as the Operations Manager for American Media Investments, where he manages day-to-day operations for three major area radio stations. Harris holds a communications degree from Pittsburg State University and serves on the university’s Department of Communications advisory board. He’s received two ADDY awards from the Joplin Area Advertising Federation and was named Pittsburg State University’s Most Outstanding Student in Broadcasting in 2005.
He and his wife, Leslie, have one daughter, Quorynn.
In accepting the new role, Harris said, “I’m extremely excited to be able to serve the communities of Crawford County. I strongly believe in everything we have to offer and I look forward to sharing those assets with the rest of the region.”
