In routine business, the Board:
• Approved a reimbursement request from the Crisis Resource Center in the amount of $2,605.32. The funds are part of the agency's regular disbursement of Emergency Shelter Grant funds from the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing. The Board acts as administering agency for the grant.
• Appointed Commissioner McGeorge as delegate to represent the Board as voting delegate to the annual Kansas Association of Counties annual conference, Nov. 16-18, in Wichita. The Board appointed Counselor Emerson as alternate voting delegate to the conference.
• Under the heading of future business, the Board will conduct public hearings on Oct. 21 concerning a proposed alley vacation in Opolis and a proposed street vacation in Washington Township. The Board will hold a public hearing Oct. 24 concerning special assessments on property in Crawford County Sewer District No. 4, in the Farlington area.
• The County Courthouse will be closed Monday in observance of Columbus Day. The Board will not meet at its regular time Tuesday. The next meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Crawford County Courthouse in Girard.
