Tia Lisa Lynn Mapes, 38, Weir, was booked into the Crawford County Jail Saturday after a Pittsburg Police Officer pulled over her vehicle at Fifth and Olive.
The officer was aware of a local Pittsburg warrant for unlawful harboring of a pit bull, and Mapes was placed under arrest after the officer learned she had other warrants. She had one warrant out of Iola for an unknown offense and a Crawford County district court warrant for five counts of cruelty to animals and two counts of failure to appear.
The cruelty to animals charges stem from a report taken by the Pittsburg Police Department on April 17, at 306 W. Seventh, a past residence of Mapes. Five ferrets were located dead in the residence after she moved out months earlier.
Mapes was booked in on $3,321.50 bond.
