The 2010 Mirza Shrine Potentate’s Ball was held March 27 to honor Don Mohler, potentate, and his wife, Bernie, Mirza first lady.
An afternoon reception for all visiting guests was held at the Lamplighter Inn, hosted by Rick Cummings, Mirza chief aide, and Herb Matlock, assistant chief aide. Food for the afternoon was provided by the potentate’s aides of Mirza.
The evening started with a social hour and banquet at Mirza Shrine Center. Menu featured house mixed salad, sirloin beef tips, red skin potatoes, green beans and raspberry brownies, catered by the Corner Bistro.
Ball committee consisted of Darrell and Sherri Orender as chairmen, Kenneth and Virginia Lollar, Jerry and Marilyn James, Herb and Sharon Matlock, Rick and Debra Cummings, Francis DeMott, John and Ruth Ketterman, Bob Rhuems and Midge and Jerry and Pat Waltrip.
Music for the dance was provided by “Diversity.”
Invocation was given by Larry Lindberg, Mirza chaplain. Serving as master of ceremonies was Roger Doue.
