Local student awarded scholarship

Kaitlyn Nepote, daughter of John and Cindy Nepote, Franklin, has been awarded a Red and Black Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year to attend the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg. The Red and Black Scholarship is awarded to incoming UCM freshmen based upon their high school cumulative grade point average and ACT composite score. The scholarship is renewable and may be received for a maximum of eight semesters of undergraduate study. A Girard High School senior, Nepote will attend UCM in the fall. She plans to major in pre-medicine.
