PITTSBURG —
A two-motorcyle accident late Monday sent a Linn County man and a Crawford County man to area hospitals for injuries.
According to a report from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, deputies along with members of Crawford County EMS, the Arma Fired Department and Eagle Med responded to the wreck about a quarter mile south of 660 Ave. on 270th Street. When deputies arrived they found two Yamaha dirt bikes in the road.
One of the drivers, Chance Kyle Slaughter, 23, of Mound City, was in the east ditch being treated by a passerby. Slaughter was later flown to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., to be treated for “life-threatening” but undisclosed injuries. The other driver, Gene Vawter, 29, of 204 E. Alfred in Mulberry, was later found at an undisclosed address in Mulberry and was transported by Crawford County EMS to Via Christi Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The nature of the wreck is still under investigation.
